Comments:
Hinai had a gourd interior but only the twined ieie (Freycinetia arborea) remains. The twining is tightly done using finely split ieie in alternating twills. Six dark bands were incorporated evenly over the surface as an aesthetic design. Within four of the bands, a two tone design is created by the alternate twill used.
