 Stone Adzes. Koi pahoa. The stone of this magnificent adze was purchased on January 4, 1887 at Alae, S. Kona from Beke, wife of Puhi for $1.50. She found it in an old kahuahale at Keei so near the sea that it was at times covered with the salt water. The handle is a fine piece of workmenship made by Keoni Kaai, bought on January 7, 1887 for 0.75 cents. Handle of hau, string of aha, coconut fiber. (Emerson) Length 21.3 cm, width 7.1 cm.
