Comments:
 Metal Adzes. Koi kupaaikee bought from Keoni Kaai in S. Pahoehoe, S. Kona for 0.75 cents. This iron swivel adze was used to work the inside of a canoe. The blade is lashed to a koa (Acacia koa) tongue, which is then secured to a hau (Hibiscus tiliaceus) wood handle with coconut (Cocos nucifera) fiber cordage. The blade is buffered by a stem of the ki (Cordyline terminalis) leaf. (Emerson) Length 67.3 cm; Length: tip to bevel 5.7 cm; bevel to haft 5.9 cm; bevel depth 0.8-1.6 cm. Blade width: tip 5.1 cm; bevel 5.7 cm; haft 6.0 cm. Handle length 63.5 cm. Swivel adze. No Figure. (Summers)
