 Metal Adzes. Koi kupaaikee bought from Hao, an old kahuna kalai waa, canoe maker, of Pahoehoe, S. Kona, for $1.00 on December 28, 1886. He was very loth to part with it, as it was a valuable tool still in use by him. (Emerson) Length: tip to bevel 7.0 cm; bevel to haft 7.5 cm; bevel depth 0.3-1.0 cm. Blade width: tip 4.1 cm; bevel 6.2 cm; haft 6.2 cm. Crsecent edge. Handle length 66.0 cm. Swivel adze. The blade was originally a knife of a carpenter's plane. Figure 116. (Summers)
