Comments:
 This makau is made of ea (Eretmochelys imbricata) shell and is dark brown in color. It follows a typical Hawaiian form with an incurved point and low outer barb. Some of the original olona (Touchardia latifolia) cordage remains attached to the shank, and a museum catalogue number has been printed on one side of the fishhook.
