Comments:
 This makau is made of ivory and follows a typical Hawaiian form with an incurved point and low outer barb. The original two-ply olona (Touchardia latifolia) cordage remains attached to the shank, and a museum catalogue number has been printed on one side of the fishhook. The hook does not appear to have been used. Figure 140. (Summers)
