This makau is made of ivory. It follows a typical Hawaiian form with an incurved point and vertical outer barb. A museum catalogue number has been printed on one side of the fishhook. A two-ply line of olona (Touchardia latifolia) is still attached to the top of the shank. Figure 140. (Summers)
