 One-Piece Fishooks. Pearl shell; straight. Point: length 2.35 cm. Shank: length 4.20 cm, width 3.20 cm. From Hawaii. This makau is made of pearl shell and follows an uncommon Hawaiian form with an upturned point following the curvature of the outer curve. It was found on the island of Hawaii and is known as a makau papaua, meaning "bivalve hook."
