 Stone Adzes. Koi pahoa - a narrow stone adze used for special work on the manu of a canoe and for cutting the auaha in the maka where it overlaps the side of the canoe. It did the fine work of a small chisel. Bought from Makia in Laaloa on Septmeber 21, 1885 for 0.50 cents. (Emerson) Length 9.8 cm; width 2.6 cm; thickness 2.3 cm; weight 110 g. Well made. Polished; blade tip battered. Figure 110. (Summers)
