Comments:
 This hat is made of red lau hala (Pandanus tectorius). The leaves were prepared, stripped and woven in the Kona style. The center of the crown, called the piko, is made up of a check woven design. The rest of the hat is woven in the maka oeno twill weave. Its fineness and color is very rare today. There is a leather sweatband on the interior of the crown. It was made circa 1938 by Mrs. Lincoln, a resident of Laupahoehoe.
