Comments:
 A mochi pounder with an elongated head that has a flat octagonal end. The head increases in diameter as it approaches the large circular pounding end. There is a long wooden handle which fits into the body of the pounder from one side to the other. See mochi pounder (1978.248.003). Made in Hawaii, circa late 1930s-early 1940s. Used by the donor's family. Mr. & Mrs. Okano came to Hawaii as free laborers in 1907, shortly after their marriage, and spent most of their life growing coffee in Kona.
