Comments:
 Viola de'arrum, or Guitarra from Madeira. Soundboard of spruce, inlay and purfling of dyed pine. 12 steel strings, arranged in groups of 2-3-3-2-2. The scroll head was popular in 1850's. Made in Lisbon in 1914 by Augusto Viera; originally owned by Gregorio de Caires of Lisbon, who immigrated to Honolulu in 1900.
