Comments:
 This hat is made of lau hala (Pandanus tectorius). The leaves were prepared, stripped and woven as a single piece known as the Kona style. The hat is entirely woven in check weave, maka moena. A 3.5 cm black grosgrain ribbon is attached to the base of the crown. A yellow shell lei is stitched to the surface of the brim. The hat also has a hat pin with a pearl-like bead at one end.
