This hat is made of lau hala (Pandanus tectorius). The leaves were prepared, stripped and woven as a single piece known as the Kona style. The hat is entirely woven in check weave, maka moena.The hat has a Haole koa seed hatband with green raffia stitched to the crown in a leaf design.
