Comments:
 This was collected by Dr. Seth Andrews between 1836 and 1843. He was a medical missionary living in Kona, Hawaii. The donor is one of his descendants. The two olona (Touchardia latifolia) tying cords are intact. Several strands of braided hair are severed. The whale tooth pendant has a hole drilled into it and it is only partially connected to the hair braids. The two coils of hair on either side of the pendant are bound together with wax linen.
