This makau is made of ea (Eretmochelys imbricata) shell and is orange in color with patches of brown. It follows a typical Hawaiian form with an incurved point, which has broken off, and low outer barb. Some of the original olona (Touchardia latifolia) cordage remains attached to the shank.
