Comments:
 This makau is made of ea (Eretmochelys imbricata) shell and is dark brown in color. It was owned by William Kaauwai, a retainer of Kalakaua and follows an uncommon Hawaiian form with an point following a much rounded curvature. The original olona (Touchardia latifolia) cordage remains attached to the shank.
