Comments:
 Older looking greenstone patu, compared to D.00079. Weapon of shaped and polished greenstone. Symbols of the rangatira, Maori chiefs, and believed to be repositories of history and mana, spiritual power. (With leather thong.. Noted missing 5/9/85.) Said to have been given to the Maori ethnographer Terangi Hiroa, by his aunt (old family heirloom; see accession record and biography of Condliffe p. 50).
