Comments:
 This sunbonnet crown is made of lau hala (Pandanus tectorius) and a darker fiber. Designs known as piko designs are evenly spaced over the weaving using the darker fiber to create a contrast in the weaving. It was made by an old woman in Waianae for Mrs. J. M. Dowsett of Waianae. She in turn gave it to Mrs. Coombs circa 1909.
