SiteType: Puna-Kau Trail. A short section of trail paved with waterworn stones over a'a lava, and running parallel with the coast. Going SW the trail comes quite close to the ocean cliff and a part of which has fallen down. Part has been destroyed by the 1955 lava flow. This part of the trail is called the Puna-Kau Trail, a portion of the stepping-stone trail that once encircled the island.
