Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Guenée, 1854)
TAXONOMY: ANIMALIA; ARTHROPODA; ATELOCERATA; HEXAPODA; INSECTA; PTERYGOTA; Lepidoptera; CRAMBIDAE
IDENTIFICATION: Small moth (11mmTL) pearly white with bronze reflections and greyish wing margins.
Fore wings 3 thin wavy lines, continuing on hind wings; double cell spot. Underside similar to upper surface. Head, Thorax, Abdomen coloured as wings. Legs and Antennae greyish brown.
GENERAL NOTE: Biology: Caterpillar rolls/folds leafblade of various grasses, including rice. Adults often congregate in daytime on undersides of citrus leaves.
