Status:
SiteType: Buried cultural deposit. Area is in pit resulting from City & County sand mining excavations and continues to adjacent "blow-out" at W end of pit. Cultural layer is visable in the exposed face on makai side of both pit and blow-out. Midden scatters at bottom as they erode from exposed face. Portion of cultural layer at E of blow-out has charcoal lens, 1 complete basalt preform adze, partially polished, found in situ just above cultural layer at this spot. Scatter includes basalt flakes and cores, and remains of marine shell and fish, and of flightless goose and Bonin petrel. ARTIFACTS (#50-MO-6-80-1).
