Comments:
 This bowl is a fine example of a wooden bowl in traditional Marquesan style. It incorporates ornate surface decoration and carving. It may have been called ko'oka oe a kumete. Wood is possibly tou (false ebony, Cordia subcordata), temanu (Calophyllum inophyluum) or mi'o (pacific rosewood, Thespesia populnea).
