SiteType: OLD MUSEUM SITE NUMBER--0-1. Kuliouou shelter. Remnant of a lava tube which forms large natural shelter 51' x 26'. Ceiling height, slightly more than 8', dropping at rear to slightly more than 6'. Protected living area c. 425 square feet. Stone wall, 2-3' high, 2' wide extends 32' across mouth, but set forward a maximum of 9', leaving uncovered area. From NW corner of shelter and 3' above floor is a small subsidiary tunnel, barely large enough for one to crawl through, which extends 45' from the wall and and curves NW. (Visited 1976 and Feb.28,1980. KPE). People living in front --Jas. T. Bailey lives in front of cave at 5864 C Kalanianaole. Mr. Schumaker, owner. EXCAVATION. ARTIFACTS.
