SiteType: A rockshelter located on the N side of the crack that trends NE from Kauhako Crater, located at the 200-foot contour above trail (Mo-B10-9). Shelter measures 4.0m x 2.65m, with a ceiling height of 1.2 to 1.65m. A rectangular terrace is built at the mouth of the shelter. Light midden scatter seen. 2-foot-square test excavation pit at the rear of the shelter. It is not known when or by whom the pit was excavated. Deposit is about 15cm thick. EXCAVATION.
