SiteType: Kahekili's Jump. A break 15 feet wide in a vertical ledge which forms a natural wall along the edge of the cliff. It appears as though the breach has been artifically made by prying out sections of the stones. In the breach is a level, natural stone platform, from which the natives jumped 62 feet into 12 feet of water. NOTE: The Kahekili referred to was a chief of Lanai, not Maui's leader. Intensive survey by B.Dixon et al. 1991, Project 482 Emory's Site 5, Bulletin 12, 1924, p. 54 Latitude: 20-44-10 +/- Longitude: 156-58-00 +/-
Bibliography: K.P. Emory, The Island of Lanai, 1924, Site 5, p. 54 B.Dixon et al. Kaunolu, 1992, BPBM
