SiteType: "Bella Munro told me about an old Hawaiian fisherman who found 2 caves in nearby ridges. One of these had been walled up and contained a number of human bones. The other cave, also walled up, contained baskets of lauhala full of salt. Supposedly this salt was stored there to be used with grass for preserving bodies, as was the custom...As far as I know these caves have not been located since." (Cooke:106)
