SiteType: Ka'a Quarry. Quarry area with 7 features recorded. Fe.1: shrine, stone-filled terrace-like structure; Fe.2: probable shrine (ahu); Fe.3: shelter, rough C-shape; Fe.4: probable shrine (ahu); Fe.5: shrine, stone-faced, earthen terrace; Fe.6: shelter, windbreak wall, and stone-lined hearth; Fe.7: quarry area, measuring c. 625m sq. All features are located atop Ka'a Cone, formerly called Laina on older maps. Surface collection made: 8 whole or broken preforms, 2 hammerstones, 1 large flake. Material currently in Bishop Hall in boxes (September 22, 1984). ARTIFACTS.
