SiteType: Kanemalohemo/Hanakalauai/Keakalauae/Popoiwi/Paukela Heiau in Opuluwai Village. A heiau at Paukela. Whole hilltop used as heiau; terraced platforms on N and E sides. Top of hill is 76 x 125 feet, and has 2 house sites on it. Slightly lower enclosure on SW. At NW corner is a small enclosure; at S end was a pit, which revealed entrance to rock tomb--a post- European period burial. See also Ma-A27-6. Village complex which includes three heiau.
